chicken noodle soup.

Tis' the season to be... SICK!
A lot of my friends and even professors have caught some kind of bug or flu and I'm just praying that im not next! But what's the best cure for being sick?! chicken noodle soup!!!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup
Adapted from Tyler Florence’s Chicken Noodle Soup

Ingredients

2 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 medium carrots, cut diagonally into 1/2-inch-thick slices
2 celery ribs, halved lengthwise, and cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
4 fresh thyme sprigs
1 bay leaf
2 qt. chicken stock
8 oz. dried wide egg noodles
1 1/2 cups shredded cooked chicken
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 handful fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped

Directions

Place a soup pot over medium heat and coat with the oil. Add the onion, garlic, carrots, celery, thyme and bay leaf. Cook and stir for about 6 minutes, until the vegetables are softened but not browned. Meanwhile, boil water in a separate pot and cook noodles according to package instructions. When slightly less than al dente, drain and set aside. Pour in the chicken stock and bring the liquid to a boil. Fold in the noodles and chicken, and continue to simmer for another couple of minutes to heat through; season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

the ladder theory

Taken from my lastest research about the "ladder theory":
Sally: We are just going to be friends, OK?
Harry: Great, friends. It's the best thing...You realize, of course, that we can never be friends.
Sally: Why not?
Harry: What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape, or form - is that men and women can't be friends, because the sex part always gets in the way.
Sally: That's not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved.
Harry: No, you don't.
Sally: Yes, I do.
Harry: No, you don't.
Sally: Yes, I do.
Harry: You only think you do.Sally: You're saying I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge?
Harry: No, what I'm saying is they all want to have sex with you.Sally: They do not.
Harry: Do too.
Sally: They do not.
Harry: Do too.
Sally: How do you know?
Harry: Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Sally: So you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive.
Harry: No, you pretty much want to nail them, too.
Sally: What if they don't want to have sex with you?
Harry: Doesn't matter, because the sex thing is already out there, so the friendship is ultimately doomed, and that is the end of the story.

The ladder theory is a fun theory that i actually strongly believe in! It explains why men can't be "just friends" with women but women can have male friends. The theory basically says that women have two ladders, a friends ladder and a real ladder (the datable ones) and men only have one ladder. The theory says that women usually know after meeting a male rather or not they stand on the friend or real ladder. But with the men's ladder ALL women can fit onto the ladder it just depends on how high or low they stand on the ladder. A woman standing higher on the ladder mean the male wants to sleep with her more than the woman on the bottom of the ladder even though he would sleep with both.
Male and females should read about it and let me know if you agree! :)

i'm changing it up..

It's time for a change guys! As much i love art and creating it I find it hard to write about..

So I have changed the title of this blog from "your ART matters" to "your HEART matters". I am hoping to write about anything and everything my heart and mind is thinking.

Last night I was watching MTV and the show "Man and Wife" came on. My first thought was wow! When did sex become such a non controversial topic? It seems like sex these days can be so freely talked about. Don't get me wrong.. I don't think its a bad thing that the subject can be so openly discussed.. but on television? Where children who aren't ready to be exposed to that world can see and hear all about it?

I know our society has changed. Children are growing up a lot faster than I did. Teenagers are more mature now because of the media and what it fails to censor. I do feel like the media has shaped a whole new look on raising children and what is expected of oneself. I do not feel like sex appeal and physically attraction should be top priority like most magazines and television shows advertise. I feel that kids are being forced to think that they have to be ungodly attractive to succeed and then have to deal with the personal issue of sex on almost every channel. How do you guys feel about it? Personally, what has the media made you think or feel about yourself? How do you let the media affect your self image?

mr. bruce gray

In my 3D-art class, we were assigned to research an interesting sculpturer in L.A. So i decided to tie my assignment in with my blog :)

"Bruce Gray's contemporary and abstract modern metal and wood sculptures have been displayed as part of group or solo art exhibitions at many Art Galleries and Art Museums from Santa Monica to Soho and abroad. The Los Angeles sculptor is also well known for his kinetic sculptures which include mobiles and stabiles, amazing gravity defying suspended super power magnet sculptures, and rolling ball sculptures. Bruce's metal sculptures are part of over 1100 private and corporate art collections worldwide, and have appeared in hundreds of movies, TV shows, music videos, and commercials."
i love this guy's work! He has amazing furniture that I would one day love to purchase for my house! But you all can check out this stuff for yourself.. let me know what you think! :)

what is art?!

*Art:: The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

My first blog is about graffiti being an art form.

here are some visual images to show how impress and detailed graffiti really is!

Many people will argue that graffiti or spray paint art is vandalism. But even though graffiti is presented in a different way unlike most work in galleries, that does not mean graffiti can be denied the same aspects and creative credit as paintings or sculptures.

Graffiti as an artform.
